Friends of Mineralogy NJ Chapter kicked off the back -to -club fall season with a VERY well attended meeting on Tues Sept 17. Several members brought flats of specimens to show off and sell: Bobby Batic brought several flats of classic NJ specimens and mentioned upcoming shows he will be selling at, namely the NoJMS Swap at Sterling Hill and Franklin Show. Will “Billy Boy” Pazik brought one flat of very nice Franklin, NJ fluorescent material, a nice assortment of gemmy green and reddish Willemites and Calcites. Also some dense zinc ore pieces were in the mix as well, surely excellent fluorescers. Ryan Klockner brought four or five flats of minerals including Moroccan Vanadinites and assorted Fluorites. Also there was one flat very historic NJ specimens from the Geiges collection. Frank Imbriacco pointed out that Mr Geiges will actually be selling at the Franklin Show. We discussed shows that took place over the summer (Springfield Mass., Denver Show) and mentioned upcoming shows (Franklin, Sterling Hill, etc). After the discussions we watched the DVD “Whats Hot in Munich (2016)”, which was an all round treat for the senses. The pizza was also excellent, as would be expected from our faithful Pizza & Pasta Factory.Friends of Mineralogy NJ Chapter kicked off the back -to -club fall season with a VERY well attended meeting on Tues Sept 17.
