Submitted by Dave “Groundhog” Shapiro We kicked off our fall 2018 season with an engaging and interesting “Summer Brag Night”. Members attending did not disappoint. We had recent finds and purchases to view and study, from Will “Billy Boy” Pazik, Groundhog Dave, Julia Chien, “Mikey” Wright, Kevin “the Coop” Cooper, and club newbies Steve “Pickles” Wien with daughter Grace. We saw Franklin fluorescents, Ramanessin Brook ammonite fragments, Eastern shore BIG shark teeth, some Maryland / Virginia collecting finds of serpentine and associated minerals, New St. / Prospect Park traprock specimens with zeolites, and some really neat Maine specimens of Lepidolite, Apatite and Tourmalines, among others. Business was kept to a minimum, with the field trips being revealed and trip flyers and upcoming show summary given out. Reminder for upcoming DUES payments was relayed to all, with the goal to have everyone paid up by our October meeting at latest.Submitted by Dave “Groundhog” Shapiro We kicked off our fall 2018 season with an engaging and interesting “Summer Brag Night”.
