The program will be a DVD selection along with discussion of a few issues to be addressed, including the "dinner get-together" idea that I had proposed and discussed with some Members / Officers. Specifically, the financing of and scheduling of would be discussed, and the interest / popularity of the idea overall. Also, the Rutgers Open House / Sale(Sat Jan 25) will be discussed, and we will be doing the Mineral I.D. workshop again as we did last year.
We WILL order Pizzas as usual, and I will have our DVD collection on hand for us to choose from.
Last thing I will mention here / for now is, if any of you are interested in helping out at the Rutgers Workshop, please let me know. It will be 11 am to roughly 3 pm and once the Classroom # is assigned, I will relay that to anyone interested.
Summary
Submitted by Dan Sackerman
1) We reviewed and discussed upcoming Rock Shows of interest. Bob was going to be in Tucson for 5 days from 1/30 to 2/3/20. I asked those present to consider volunteering to be at the Club Table at the Edison Show.
2) Bob and Robert brought it a few Very High End Specimens.
3) Ryan brought in a tray of Fluorite Specimen from the Elmwood Mine in Tennessee.
4) There was nothing discussed as far as Old Business.
5) Treasury Report: Ken reported $1,400 (+ or – a few $). All expenses are up to date. EFMLS dues have been paid and Church has been paid.
6) Under New Business, KC mentioned that the Holiday Dinner was postponed and may be held in March. Possibly at the Fireside. KC thought that the Club would foot the Bill for the Dinner. Ken felt that the Club should only subsidize the Dinner. The consensus in the room was to subsidize only. So shared expense – TBD? The Date has yetto be confirmed as well.
7) We watched a DVD called the “New Crystal Hunters: The Sterling Mine” This Video was very entertaining and I recommend that this one is played again when some of the newer members who may not have been to Franklin / Ogdensburg can learn more about the Mines. There was a lot of discussion about Sterling Hill after the Video. Bob Batic shared a few Good Stories.
9) It was reported that Dave would be lining up several Field Trips in the future.Submitted by Dan Sackerman
